I created a new blog yesterday called Trying to Change My Life Now. I'm going to use it as a journal so I'll talk about everything that's going on in my life. I already have content I'm going to post on the new blog because I've been keeping a journal on a Word document.

Writing posts on my new journal will be easier because I won't be worried about writing for an audience.  I'll be the audience since I'll be writing for myself.  I've set the blog so it can be searched by the search engines so it may come up if someone searches for a term that I've written about.  

A personal journal is an awesome tool that helps us learn how to live better by learning from our mistakes and celebrating our successes.  One of the things I'll use the journal for is to write about some of the things I'd like to accomplish in my life.

Not everyone has a journal for the simple reason they don't want anyone to know what's going on in their life, and they don't want anyone to know their innermost thoughts.  If you feel that way, I encourage you to look at journaling from a different perspective.

Should Your Journal be Private or Public?

LiveJournal is a great place for people that are starting a journal from scratch.  Or, if you want to keep a private journal, I recommend using the Penzu.com system or the blogger system.  Blogger offers a way in which you can keep your journal private and it won't be indexed by the Googlebot.   The Blogger platform 
is on Google's network and I've learned from experience that if you post consistently, Google will crawl your blog at least once or twice a week.

Many people new to the self-help arena ask the question, “What are positive affirmations?” That’s a good thing because it means you are interested in changing your life for the better and you’re looking at ways to help you reach your goal. This article will help you understand what positive affirmations are and how they can help you change your life.
A positive affirmation is a declarative statement that you say to yourself over and over again for 10 minutes in order to reprogram your subconscious mind so that it creates what you want. A positive affirmation could be, “I am happy” or “I am a millionaire”.

You should say the affirmation every morning shortly after you wake up and every night right before you go to sleep.  It’s a good idea to write the affirmation on a piece of paper so you can look at while you’re saying it until you have it memorized. Make sure to write the affirmation in the present tense such as, “I am” or I have” or “I am a millionaire”.

You may think that you’re not currently a millionaire, but if you say a declarative statement over and over long enough you will become a millionaire. Be patient. Say the statement over and over for 10 minutes every morning and every night. Have you ever heard anyone say, “He’s told that lie so many times he believes it himself.” Affirmations work on the same principle. 

The More You Repeat an Affirmation the More You Believe It

The more you say the affirmation the more you believe it, and the more you believe it, the faster it will come true in your life.  One of the most widely respected self-help writers, James Allen, coined the term, “as a man thinketh so shall he be”. What he didn't say is that sometimes it takes a long time for the thoughts of a man to manifest.

The length of time it takes an affirmation to manifest depends on the complexity of the affirmation. I healed my bleeding gums in two weeks. And I’ve created things as quickly as 15 minutes.

It takes time regardless if it happens in 15 minutes or 2 weeks, you have to be patient and you have to continue to say the affirmation until what you want manifests in your life.

In order to get where you want to be you have to have some sort of faith, some sort of confidence. Take a moment right now to think about a time when you got something you wanted. You had to have confidence to get what you wanted. Well, the same thing applies to getting what you want in the future. Affirmations help you build that confidence and the faith you need to get what you want.

How do Affirmations Work?

Affirmations work by creating empowering messages in your mind, they help the mind generate pictures of what you want which is a necessary component of reprogramming your subconscious mind. The subconscious works through pictures. 

The longer you focus on a picture the deeper into the subconscious it gets, and once it’s reprogrammed, the subconscious mind will find ways to get you what you want.
Unless you actively change the pictures in your subconscious mind it will continue to produce the same things in your life over and over again.

The language of the subconscious mind is pictures. That’s why newspapers call very successful people and leaders “visionaries.” When you say an affirmation you are subconsciously creating a picture in your mind that tells the subconscious what to create in your life. And when you say the affirmation over and over you are steadily focusing on what you really want so the subconscious mind will find ways to get it for you.

Another reason affirmations are so powerful is because you are actually using the Law of Attraction which is also known as Like Attracts Like. And you are changing the way you think.  When you consistently focus on the same image in your mind you are telling your subconscious mind, “This is what I want!”

You now know how use positive affirmations to get what you want. The trick to being successful is to perform the mental exercise every day without fail until you get what you want. You cannot stop no matter how long it takes. Be patient and know that you’ll get your desire at some point.

If you're wondering, "Why can't I change my life?" you're not alone.  I wake up every morning and ask myself the same question.  Even though I know what I have to do to change, I don't take action half the time.

I have done miracles with my mind simply by performing positive affirmations and visualizations, but it seems lately that I can't get myself to take action to do the work.  It only takes 10 minutes each day and I find myself doing my affirmations a couple times a week.  The problem is that's not enough.

In order for any affirmation or visualization to manifest, you have to do the mental exercise every day without fail.  I know I can get whatever I want because I've done it before and I'm going to do it again.  The only question is why do I stop doing it?  What is stopping me for changing my life on purpose?

Maybe some day soon I'll do some more magic.  For now I'm stuck.  I accept that, but I'd like to change completely.  Especially my finances.  I'm making money and I"m surving, but I know I can do so much better.  I'm smart and I know what to do.  The trick is getting myself to take action.

Just like some, I never imagined how great I could become. One thing I have learnt is that, there is nothing more beautiful in the world than seeing you achieving greatness, being great and staying in greatness.

In this year, I have worked very hard and gave my all in what I do. It has resulted in achieving greatness. You probably wonder how it all happened. Well, it just started by waking up and believing in myself that I could do it. At times I felt like I could never achieve greatness. From an early age, I had always believed greatness was for other people not I. The people who you rely on to do their best, might get something out of your encouragement you are trying to keep yourself esteem down because that encouragement, it's supposed to go to you.

We might not realise that keeping our selves down, it's giving them the impressions that you are giving them the encouragement you rightfully deserve. It's not trying to show them up but there are times where what's yours is rightfully yours. That is when you need to give yourself that encouragement that will enable you to see the greatness in yourself. It is what you have as it what you always need to develop. Don't abuse it in different way. Find it within yourself you don't need anyone to assists you. You are the only one who can discover it.

I saw a YouTube clip on this hip-hop preacher who spoke about good being an enemy of greatness. He said "that some people in this life just go for good when they can actually have the potential to go for great. They only settled for good as they had excuses after excuses."

After watching this, I realised I was the people he was talking about who were settling for less. This became the wakeup call in my life that made I realise that greatness was what I truly deserved. Enough was enough. I was sick of getting the good, okay or better when I could achieve the best and greatness. By believing in me, made me pass through it all even though challenges arose.

A life lesson that I give you is that the most beautiful things in life are seen within us first. Believe in yourself to be the greatest and you will become the greatest. I double dare you to leave all the excuses behind and go for greatness. You don't deserve the usual. You don't deserve getting less. You are better off in the greatness. Greatness is on you.
